Meet Dimitra, Mindfulness Facilitator

"The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are.” - Carl G. Jung

Hi, my name is Dimitra (a.k.a. Ms. D).

Mindfulness is more than a way to reduce stress, it’s a foundational skill that empowers young people to strengthen self-awareness, build resilience, and thrive.

“The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are.” — Carl G. Jung

This quote captures the heart of my work with youth.

I am a Certified Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness Facilitator with nearly 20 years of personal meditation practice and extensive training in research-based, trauma-informed approaches. As Lead Facilitator of the Mindfulness Program at Batshaw Youth and Family Centres, I design and guide inclusive, evidence-based programs that support self-awareness, emotional regulation, and resilience.

My work is rooted in both personal experience and professional training. When injuries halted my running, I turned to meditation. What began as a personal practice nearly two decades ago has become a lifelong commitment to supporting the well-being of others.

Over the years, I’ve shared mindfulness with close to 4,000 individuals, children, teens, adults, and seniors across schools, youth protection services, hospital, community centres, and public events. Each program is accessible, engaging, and tailored to meet the unique needs of the group, ensuring mindfulness is practical and easy to integrate into daily life.

Mindful Me is more than a program. It’s a safe, supportive space where young people can feel seen, build confidence, and flourish from the inside out.
