Embrace your magnificence

Beautifully Surrendering to Nature by Peter Jamus

“The stars are like letters which inscribe themselves at every moment in the sky . . . . Everything in the world is full of signs . . .. All events are coordinated . . .. All things depend on each other; as has been said, ‘“Everything breathes together.’”                                                   - Plotinus

We are surrounded with the healing effects of nature everyday, but it is up to us to stop, observe, connect and allow nature to be our mirror.

Nature heals my heart and mind by purifying my outlook. So today, I share with you some thoughts of how being present in the company of trees soothes me.

The seed of a tree determines what type of tree it will become when in the right environment. By taking in what it needs and letting go of what no longer serves it, a tree prospers in its surroundings. Truth is always within me. I quiet down to hear my heart so I may gently connect to what nourishes my authentic self.

For every season there is a reason. As trees adapt to seasons without struggle, I must accept change, since change is one of the only certainty in life.  I may not always understand the events in my life, but I do get to choose between nurturing faith or fear within me.

With change comes letting go of attachments. Trees produce branches, leaves, flowers, and fruit. They do not choose to whom they will give oxygen, provide nourishment  and  shelter for. To give and to receive is one activity in nature which produces abundance. I am interconnected with all that is; every person, situation and thing has a purpose in my life.

If a tree is not flexible it will break when faced with challenges. By letting go of control I am open to embracing my creativity to undertake whatever comes my way, adapting and growing from each experience.

Being mindful of the essence the trees possess such as: faith, stability, intelligence, strength, creativity, beauty, mystery, flexibility, generosity, harmony, potential, patience, transformation and grace, re-awakens within me the flow of energy to surrender and evolve not to who I think I should be, but to whom I may be meant to be.

Behind the stillness of a tree and all the activity of this universe there is energy so grand, so powerful and so magnificent that I can’t even begin to understand. When I allow myself  with my meditation to be vulnerable and intimate with this energy that orchestrates the whole universe, I connect to the profound truth that this energy is indeed my mirror, your mirror, our Oneness.

I leave you with a quote from our most influential physicist of the 20th century, Albert Einstein: “A human being is a part of the whole, called by us "Universe", a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest — a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty. Nobody is able to achieve this completely, but the striving for such achievement is in itself a part of the liberation and a foundation for inner security.”

Be well always,
